WHEW, this took a lot longer than I thought it would.
A dual request for and She wanted me to draw Volvagia, and he wanted me to draw Midna's true form, so I randomly hit upon the idea of having them try to kill each other. Mostly, I think it worked out.
One thing that was interesting to me about Twilight Princess was that, in it, you never got to see the inside of Death Mountain when it was covered in twilight. I began to wonder what a twilit volcano would look like, so that's what I tried to draw. I really feel like I screwed up the background, though. For some reason, I tried to add that weird sky that the Twilight Realm has...which doesn't make sense, since this is supposed to be inside a volcano. And the stupidity of that really didn't hit me until just now. The layout of the lava and the platforms is a reference to the battle with Volvagia in Zelda II.
I always liked the idea that Volvagia's back was made of of volcanic rocks and had lava running between the cracks. I made the rocks darker and the lava cracks more dramatic, but either way, I still don't think mine looks nearly as cool as the actual game version. I removed Midna's headdress because I really wanted to have her hair flowing upward into the Fused Shadow. Why? I have no idea.
I think that it looks a little stiff, but overall, I like this.
Nice, that actually looks really sick I was always a bit disappointed with how Midna looked with the Fused Shadows on since it looked kinda boring, but THIS would be an epic battle! Love the details you put here and the battling of the two. I actually think the background works pretty well and the detail you put on the two are amazing. Wonderful work and great ideas you got going on here
Wow, thanks! I actually thought the Fused Shadow looked pretty awesome, but I always wanted to see her control it without actually wearing it. Thank you so much for the compliments, and for the fave!
